Deep Web the Movie

Vere Software President Todd G. Shipley to appear in Silk Road documentary

(March 13,2015 – Reno, NEV)  Bill & Ted fans may have to wait a little longer for the prospective third film, but the actors who played the duo (Keanu Reevesand Alex Winter) are taking a journey into a digital crime saga. Reeves is narrating Winter's documentary, Deep Web, about the arrest of Ross William Ulbricht, recently convicted of being "Dread Pirate Roberts," the creator and operator of online black market Silk Road.

Appearing in the film is cybercrime expert and author, Todd G. Shipley.  Mr. Shipley was interviewed in Los Angles last fall regarding the Darknet and the case against Ross Ulbricht from the law enforcement perspective. Mr. Shipley is the co-author of the book “Investigating Internet Crimes: An Introduction to Solving Crimes in Cyberspace”. Mr. Shipley commented on the film “This was a first for me and an interesting dive into the movie making process. Alex made it easy and was great to work with on this project”.

Winter wrote, directed and produced the film, which premieres at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas on Sunday and will make its world television premiere on Epix this spring. Their Deep Web collaboration marks the first time Reeves and Winter have worked together in 22 years.
