We think online investigations is set to become a very big deal in coming years. Employers both public and private want to know how to vet applicants, attorneys use social networking posts to impeach witnesses, and law enforcement investigators daily find images and video that help them build criminal cases. We’ve made products that help them do that.
At the same time, it isn’t as simple as archiving Web pages as you find them. Many users are still getting to know the Internet, and the sheer amount of information can feel overwhelming — especially when combined with their existing workloads. At the same time, laws and the people who make them have not caught up with the technology… and aren’t likely to anytime soon, because it changes so rapidly.
We want you to use our software, certainly, because we think it will help you. But we also want to help you navigate the terrain. There are a lot of tools out there, along with techniques to put them to best use. New case law is being made, legislation written and rewritten. It’s a lot to absorb, and we want to help you put the information to work for you.
This blog is one place where we’ll do that. We hope you’ll join us for the trip.
